“And He who sat there had the appearance of jasper and sardius…” — Revelation 4:3
Ancient Ember is a contemplative adornment, a visual prayer inspired by the holy fire of God’s presence — the ember that burns quietly within, waiting only for breath (ruach) to rise into flame.
At its center glows a rich sardius (carnelian) stone, the first stone in the Twelve Stones Collection. In Revelation, sardius appears in the vision of the One seated upon the throne — a radiance of living fire, glory, and divine nearness. Its deep ember-red tones echo that sacred image: not a fire that consumes, but one that reveals, refines, and calls the heart closer.
The stone is wrapped in deep brown cord, grounding this holy fire in the humility of earth and wilderness — the landscapes where God forms prophets, pilgrims, and praying hearts. Long brass beads bring the tones of ancient vessels, while green Miyuki beads and a small brass drop speak of life and movement in desert places.
Formed upon a structured brass collar, the silhouette recalls ancient adornment of the Near East — priestly, regal, and timeless. This piece feels unearthed rather than made, as though it carries a memory older than words.
